Welcome to Blagdon Under Fives Group. We are a longstanding organisation that has provided high-quality, OFSTED-inspected, early education and play opportunities to children in the area for over thirty years. Voluntarily-run, we provide a safe and stimulating environment where children can learn through play.   

Pre-School

The Pre-school is based in a purpose-built classroom in the grounds of Blagdon school and caters for children between the ages of 2½ and 5 years. Click here to see what we've been doing.

• Outside play encouraged at each session

As pre-school children approach school age they are introduced to the day-to-day life of the school before starting school in September. This ensures a smooth and happy transition.

Our Pre-school opening times are (term-time only):

• Morning sessions 9am – 11.45am, from Monday to Friday (Thursday sessions are specifically for those starting school the following September)

• Optional daily Lunch Club between 11.45am – 1pm

• Afternoon sessions are currently held on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 1pm – 3pm.

We provide full day-care provision between 9am and 3pm for three days per week. Nursery Voucher Funding is available for children aged over 3 for a maximum of five 2½ hour sessions per week. This is paid directly to the Pre-School from North Somerset Council.

Current charges are:

• Morning sessions - £9.75

• Lunch Club - £3.00

• Afternoon sessions - £7.75

Baby and Toddler Group

Our group caters for babies and small children aged up to 3 years.
We meet every Monday, except Bank Holidays, between 10am and 11.45am in Blagdon Methodist Church Hall.

The atmosphere is informal. There is a good selection of toys and a range of different activities, as well as snack time and plenty of tea and coffee for the adults. Come and meet other local families.  All carers are welcome, including parents, grandparents, childminders and nannies etc.
The cost is £2.00 per family, per session and the Health Visitor comes in monthly.
